This project will make improvements to approximately 6.5 miles of WIS 36 from WIS 120 in Springfield to WIS 11 in the town of Burlington, Walworth County. Multiple bridges will also receive improvements along the corridor.

Improvement Include:

• Full reconstruction of bridge over Ore Creek near White River State Trail.
• Resurfacing of approximately 6.6 miles of WIS 36 within the corridor.
• Polymer overlay improvements on bridge over WIS 11.

Traffic Impacts:

• WIS 36 will be closed to through traffic and will be detoured beginning May 1
  • Posted detour will utilize WIS 11, WIS 83, WIS 50, US 12, and WIS 120.
• Flagging operation on White River State Trail at WIS 36 for bicycle and pedestrian traffic when work is occurring on the bridge over the trail.

Schedule: 

This project began in spring 2024 and is scheduled to be completed by fall. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
