Project improvements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reconstruction of WIS 55\/County JJ intersection to a roundabout\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/wis55kausey\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/843\/WIS-55-Website-Exhibits.pdf\">Display<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Roundabout includes lighting and concrete sidewalk<\/li>\n<li>14 miles of WIS 55 mainline resurfacing<\/li>\n<li>Mill 2\u201d of existing asphalt, then 4.5\u201d of Cold In-Place Recycling to existing pavement structure, and conclude with new 3.5\u201d HMA overlay<\/li>\n<li>Rumble strip installation<\/li>\n<li>Beam guard replacement<\/li>\n<li>Culvert &amp; storm sewer replacement<\/li>\n<li>Curb ramp replacement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Schedule and construction staging<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Start date (County JJ Intersection): April 25, 2022<br \/>\nAnticipated completion date (County JJ Intersection): Week of August 8, 2022<br \/>\nTentative start date (WIS 55 mainline): May 31, 2022<br \/>\nAnticipated completion date (WIS 55 mainline): Mid-September 2022<\/p>\n<p><strong>Traffic impacts<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full closure of WIS 55\/County JJ Intersection beginning April 25 through August 9, 2022.\n<ul>\n<li>Detour will utilize I-41 to County N to County UU.<\/li>\n<li>Traffic will use the driveway along Rose Hill Rd (County CC) to access The Office Sports Bar\/Starlite Club<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Flagging operations are anticipated to begin along WIS 55 mainline on May 31 and last until September<a href=\"http:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/wis55kausey\/detour\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-43\" src=\"http:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/wis55kausey\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/843\/detour.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/wis55kausey\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/843\/detour.png 783w, https:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/wis55kausey\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/843\/detour-300x238.png 300w, https:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/wis55kausey\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/843\/detour-768x610.png 768w, https:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/wis55kausey\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/843\/detour-561x446.png 561w, https:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/wis55kausey\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/843\/detour-500x397.png 500w, https:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/wis55kausey\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/843\/detour-107x85.png 107w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Project benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide smoother driving lanes for motorists<\/li>\n<li>Safety enhancements at WIS 55\/County JJ intersection from roundabout<\/li>\n<li>Pedestrian safety at curb ramps and pedestrian crossings in Freedom<\/li>\n<li>Beam guard upgrades<\/li>\n<li>Addition of rumble strips to keep motorists attentive and on the roadway<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Temporary Business Signing<\/strong><br \/>\nTemporary business signing may be placed during the detoured portion of the project by filling out a WisDOT temporary business signing permit. The permit is free.\u202fAll temporary business signing needs approval via the permit\u202fbefore placement to ensure it is in a safe location and does not pose a visual distraction or traffic hazard. Costs associated with creating the temporary signing are the responsibility of the business.<\/p>\n<p>Please keep the following items in mind regarding business signing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Temporary business signing cannot be placed on traffic control devices or state signs.<\/li>\n<li>WisDOT encourages businesses to team up and have multiple businesses listed on one sign structure versus several individual signs.
