This is a resurface project that will remove and replace the top 2″ of asphalt on the highway to address the deteriorating pavement surface. At Davenport Street, the existing underdrain is failing and causing WIS 47 to settle.
In addition to the settlement, the failing underdrain no longer properly drains and will be replaced with this project.
The medians and islands at the County Highway K intersection will be repaired or removed to maintain proper drainage. The curb and gutter for the island for the east leg of the intersection is at allowing water to pond and seep into the subgrade. The corrugated concrete median and curb and gutter for the median along the north and south legs of the intersection are in poor condition causing drainage issues.
Finally, grading at guardrail end terminals is substandard. Grading will be completed at guardrail and the rails will be replaced to bring them to current standards.
