Overview

The first phase of this project is set to begin late March and reach completion by June 27, 2019. The following work will occur on WIS 27, between Namekagon river Bridge and US 63:

  • Asphalt resurfacing
  • Curb and gutter replacement
  • Sidewalk replacement
  • Sanitary sewer improvements
  • Watermain improvements
  • Storm sewer improvements
  • Two-way left-turn lane installation between West Carol Drive and Michigan Avenue, and b
  • Traffic signal installation
  • Bridge repair
  • Lane reduction between West Carol Drive and Michigan Avenue (four lanes to two lanes)
  • Lane expansion between the Namekagon River Bridge and Railroad Street (four lanes to five lanes)

The second phase of this project will begin after Labor Day (September 2). This phase of the project will take place between Namekagon River Bridge and Michigan Avenue. The second phase will include the following work:

  • Realignment of the CTH B intersection with WIS 27
  • Installation of traffic signals at CTH B
  • Installation of storm sewer
  • Replacement and/or addition of curb and gutter and sidewalk

An environmental document will be prepared to assess the impacts to various environmental factors within the project limits. Coordination with staff from the Department of Natural Resources has been initiated and will continue throughout the design phase of the project. 

WIS 27 Public Information Meetings will be held each week beginning March 14, 2019.
