Southbound US 51 traffic has been shifted to northbound US 51 via temporary crossovers. Northbound US 51 will operate with single lane bi-directional traffic through the Memorial Day weekend up to July 2, 2020. Access will be maintained to all ramps within the project limits.
Construction work on US 51 will be performed with lane closures. From the beginning of the project through Independence Day, and again from Labor Day through the end of the project, all traffic will be moved onto the northbound lanes (one lane in each direction).
The speed limit on US 51 will be reduced to 55 mph during these closures.
Motorists should expect to encounter occasional lane shifts on the entrance/exit ramps to WIS 86 and County S. Motorists should also expect to encounter occasional flagging operations on WIS 86 and County S near their interchanges with US 51.
- From noon Thursday, July 2, 2020, to 6 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2020 for Independence Day
- From Independence Day through Labor Day both northbound lanes will be open, but southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane Monday through Saturday of each week (both southbound lanes will be open every Sunday).
- From noon Friday, September 4, 2020, to 6 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2020 for Labor Day
- For the Independence Day, and Labor Day Holiday weekends, US 51 will be open to two lanes of traffic in each direction.
