{"id":12,"date":"2026-01-14T13:31:39","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T19:31:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/794bridges\/full-project-overview\/"},"modified":"2026-05-01T09:49:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-01T14:49:10","slug":"full-project-overview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/794bridges\/full-project-overview\/","title":{"rendered":"Project Details"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This WisDOT project will make various improvements to the bridge structures along I-794 between the Marquette Interchange and the Lake Interchange in the city if Milwaukee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note: This project is not associated with the I-794 Lake Interchange study.<\/strong> To learn more about the I-794 Lake Interchange study, please visit the study page here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.794lakeinterchange.wisconsindot.gov\/\">https:\/\/www.794lakeinterchange.wisconsindot.gov\/<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Project Improvements:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Deck sealing and polyester polymer concrete overlays of various bridges along I-794<\/li>\n<li>High friction surface treatments<\/li>\n<li>Concrete approach slab repairs<\/li>\n<li>Concrete surface repair on parapet walls<\/li>\n<li>New permanent pavement markings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This project will be completed over the course of two construction seasons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2026: Eastbound structures<\/li>\n<li>2027: Westbound structures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Traffic Impacts:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The majority of this project will be completed <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">during the overnight hours<\/span> with various lane, ramp, and full directional closures.<\/p>\n<p>Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Schedule:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This project is scheduled to begin in May 2026 and be completed by the end of 2027.
