Project improvements include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mill the existing asphalt pavement\/overlay with new asphalt pavement<\/li>\n<li>Shoulder work &#8211; including increasing the paved shoulder width from 3 feet to 5-6 feet<\/li>\n<li>Replacement of beam guard throughout corridor<\/li>\n<li>Replacement of a pipe culvert<\/li>\n<li>Installation of shoulder rumble strips<\/li>\n<li>Pavement markings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Anticipated benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Smoother driving lanes for motorists, decreased future maintenance cost, longer pavement life.<\/li>\n<li>Wider paved shoulders will improve safety.<\/li>\n<li>Upgrade to roadside beamguard will improve safety.<\/li>\n<li>Culvert work will improve drainage to keep water off the roadway surface.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Schedule\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 18, 2025 and expected to finish in early November.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Traffic impacts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Week of August 18 and August 22<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-27 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/45nfdl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1204\/45detour-1.jpg\" alt=\"\uf0a7 Closure of US 45 between County R and County Z to replace existing cattle pass with culvert pipe. The permit is free. All temporary business signing needs approval via the permit before placement to ensure it is in a safe location and do not pose a visual distraction or traffic hazard. Costs associated with creating the temporary signing are the responsibility of the business.<\/p>\n<p>Please keep the following items in mind regarding business signing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Temporary business signings cannot be placed on traffic control devices or state signs.<\/li>\n<li>WisDOT encourages businesses to team up and have multiple businesses listed on one sign structure versus several individual signs. This makes it easier for travelers to identify signs and find their destination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Temporary Business Sign permits are available as a fillable-form WORD document or standard pdf file download.
