This project is located between WisDOT&#8217;s I-43 (Brown Street to Capitol Drive) project and the I-43 North-South (Glendale to Grafton) project.<\/p>\n<p>This is a pavement resurfacing project to extend the service life of the existing roadway and improve the pavement condition.<\/p>\n<h3>Project Improvements:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Remove the existing asphalt pavement and replace with five (5) inches of new asphalt<\/li>\n<li>Spot concrete repairs on all ramps within the Silver Spring Drive interchange<\/li>\n<li>Signal repairs at I-43 northbound exit ramp to Port Washington Road<\/li>\n<li>Structure maintenance improvements for various retaining walls and noise walls along I-43\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/43oakleaf\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1352\/noisebarrierbrochure.pdf\">Noise Barriers: What You Should Know<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Structure-mounted noise wall replacement along I-43 southbound<\/li>\n<li>Drainage improvements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Traffic Impacts<\/h3>\n<p>Motorists should expect long-term single lane closures within project limits.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I-43 northbound will be reduced from three (3) lanes to two (2) lanes from just north of Capitol Drive to Bender Road<\/li>\n<li>I-43 southbound will be reduced from three (3) lanes to two (2) lanes from Good Hope Road to the Oak Leaf Trail<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional closures of local roads and ramps will be required throughout the project.<\/p>\n<h3>Schedule:<\/h3>\n<p>This project is scheduled to begin in mid-2025 and be completed in 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This project will make improvements to the I-43 North-South Freeway from the Oak Leaf Trail to Bender Road in Milwaukee County.
