The existing scissor ramp configuration will be replaced with a traditional diamond interchange.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/43becherinterchange\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1483\/overview.pdf\">View interchange configuration map<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Project Improvements:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Elimination of scissor ramp configuration and partial removal of frontage roads to construct a traditional diamond interchange<\/li>\n<li>Reconstruct Becher Street under I-43 to include one through lane in each direction.<\/li>\n<li>Signal reconstruction at both I-43 northbound and I-43 southbound ramp terminals<\/li>\n<li>Update all curb ramps within project limits to meet ADA standards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Traffic Impacts:<\/h3>\n<p>The entire I-43 and Becher Street interchange will be closed during construction. This includes the on\/off-ramps and Becher Street under the interstate. Traffic on I-43 will not be impacted during peak travel hours.<\/p>\n<p>Detours will be posted utilizing the Lapham Boulevard interchange, 1st Street (WIS 32), and 6th Street (WIS 38).<\/p>\n<p>Pedestrian detours will also be posted.<\/p>\n<h3>Business Resources:<\/h3>\n<p>WisDOT&#8217;s &#8220;In This Together&#8221; program includes tips, tools, and resources to help businesses plan for highway construction impacts.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wisconsindot.gov\/Documents\/projects\/in-together\/QuickGuide.pdf\">&#8220;In This Together&#8221; quick guide<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wisconsindot.gov\/Documents\/projects\/in-together\/temporary-signage.pdf#\">Temporary Signage Guide<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wisconsindot.gov\/Pages\/projects\/in-together\/default.aspx\">WisDOT&#8217;s &#8220;In this Together&#8221; webpage<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Schedule:<\/h3>\n<p>Construction is scheduled to begin in early April 2026 and be completed by late fall 2026.
