{"id":12,"date":"2025-02-10T14:58:23","date_gmt":"2025-02-10T20:58:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/41hale\/full-project-overview\/"},"modified":"2026-04-06T14:59:36","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T19:59:36","slug":"full-project-overview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/41hale\/full-project-overview\/","title":{"rendered":"Project Details"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Overview<\/h3>\n<p>This project will make various improvements to I-41\/43\/894 and the Hale Interchange, between Lincoln Avenue and 84th Street, in Milwaukee County. 2026 construction has resumed.<\/p>\n<h3>2026 Construction Activities:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Base patching and paving on ramps<\/li>\n<li>Permanent pavement marking on mainline I-43\/41\/894<\/li>\n<li>Beam guard replacement<\/li>\n<li>Pavement repairs in the Hales Corners Park and Ride\n<ul>\n<li>The Hales Corners Park and Ride lot will remain open for partial use during construction, as well as the MCTS Route 55 located within the lot<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Bridge repair work:\n<ul>\n<li>Surface repairs and partial bridge painting on the I-43 bridges over Layton Avenue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Local road work on Lincoln Avenue, National Avenue, and Oklahoma Avenue:\n<ul>\n<li>Base patching and paving at intersections and traffic signal replacement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2026 Traffic Impacts:<\/h3>\n<p>Overnight lane closures on mainline I-43\/41\/894 for beam guard, pavement markings, and bridge work throughout the corridor.<\/p>\n<p>Overnight ramp closures for base patching and paving operations on ramps.<\/p>\n<p>Daytime single lane closures on WIS 100 (mid-May) for bridge work.<\/p>\n<h3>Overall Project Improvements<\/h3>\n<p>The entire corridor will be resurfaced. Other project improvements include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Repair several (17) bridge structures within the Hale Interchange<\/li>\n<li>Concrete base patching<\/li>\n<li>Repair the Hales Corners Park and Ride lot<\/li>\n<li>Reapply high friction surface treatment to interchange curves<\/li>\n<li>Replace guardrail<\/li>\n<li>Replace existing curb ramps to meet ADA standards<\/li>\n<li>Signal and light upgrades<\/li>\n<li>Ramp improvements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Schedule<\/h3>\n<p>This project began in late May 2025 and is scheduled for completion in 2026.
