{"id":12,"date":"2026-01-14T13:26:00","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T19:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/4160interchange\/full-project-overview\/"},"modified":"2026-04-08T11:54:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T16:54:11","slug":"full-project-overview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/4160interchange\/full-project-overview\/","title":{"rendered":"Project Details"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This WisDOT project will make various safety improvements to the I-41 and WIS 60 interchange in Washington County.<\/p>\n<h3>Project Improvements:<\/h3>\n<p>The project will make improvements at the southbound ramp intersections, and address aging pavement along WIS 60 and the interchange ramps.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reconstruct the I-41 southbound on-ramp to address merging conflicts.<\/li>\n<li>Widen and realign the right turn lane at the I-41 southbound off-ramp to improve right turn visibility.<\/li>\n<li>Addition of traffic signals at the southbound ramp terminal and extension of the westbound WIS 60 left turn lane.<\/li>\n<li>Partial deck removal and widening to increase length of WIS 60 left turn lane to I-41 northbound on-ramp<\/li>\n<li>Other maintenance improvements, including pavement resurfacing, new pavement marking, and new signing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/4160interchange\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1470\/OverviewExhibit.pdf\">View Project Overview Map<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Traffic Impacts:<\/h3>\n<p>A combination of long-term and overnight closures along WIS 60 and the on\/off-ramps will be required during construction. Detours will be posted. Single lane closures on I-41 will be restricted to off-peak and overnight hours for bridge widening (removal of median) and painting.<\/p>\n<p>Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained.<\/p>\n<h3>Schedule:<\/h3>\n<p>Construction on this project is scheduled to begin in mid-April and be completed in fall 2026.
