Construction is anticipated in<strong> late November or early December 2025.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Read original project start press release: <a href=\"http:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/141crivitz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1381\/141startnr2025.pdf\">US 141 construction to begin July 21<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Project location<\/strong><br \/>\nThis project is located on 1.4 miles of US 141 from Owl Lane to S Junction Old Hwy 141 in Crivitz in Marinette County.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/141crivitz\/map\/\">View project location on interactive map.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Project purpose and need<\/strong><br \/>\nThe purpose and need of this project is to maintain safe and efficient travel along US 141 and to improve safety and operational deficiencies along the project route.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project improvements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This project will convert the existing four-lane roadway through Crivitz to a three-lane roadway with two-way left turn lane (TWLTL). This improvement is known as a Road Diet. A \u201croad diet\u201d consists of converting a four-lane roadway (two lanes each direction) to a three-lane roadway (one in each direction plus a center left-turn lane). Curbs will be reconstructed with concrete truck aprons behind to allow for trucks to make turning movements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Intersection improvement at Old Hwy 141 and US 141.\n<ul>\n<li>Reconstruct the intersection to include an extended dedicated right turn lane for northbound US 141 traffic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Railroad crossing improvements.\n<ul>\n<li>Install raised medians at the southern and northern approaches to the ELS Railroad crossing on US 141. This work is expected at the end of the project.\n<ul>\n<li>Adjacent driveways will be closed only for businesses that have additional access points.<\/li>\n<li>Communication with the affected property and business owners will occur prior to any work being done.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/projects.511wi.gov\/141crivitz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1381\/141display1.pdf\">View US 141 detour route on a map<\/a> (PDF)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>US 141 will be<strong> OPEN<\/strong> to at least one travel lave in each direction during a majority of the construction.\n<ul>\n<li>Access to driveways and side roads will be provided for the majority of construction, but temporary closures may occur during working hours.<\/li>\n<li>Any closures or temporary impacts will be communicated to the property and business owners prior to any work being done.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The southern junction of Old Hwy 141 at US 141 will be fully closed to construct the addition of a right-turn lane. No signed detour.<\/li>\n<li>Both east and west County W at US 141 will be permitted to be closed for a maximum of five consecutive days with a detour posted by Marinette County.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Temporary business signing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Temporary business signing may be placed by filling out a WisDOT business signing permit. All temporary business signing needs approval via the permit before placement to ensure it is in a safe location and does not pose a visual distraction or traffic hazard. The temporary business signing permit is free.
