Community workshops for Dunn's Marsh mosaic project

Posted: Jan. 14, 2015

We would like to share an update and reminder regarding the Dunn's Marsh mosaic workshops. Below is information from the group organizer, Marcia Yapp. NOTE: This is a community-based program and not sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

This is a volunteer opportunity to participate in the production of the mosaic tile images that will be placed on two retaining walls near the pedestrian overpass (to be built in 2015) of the Beltline, between Verona Road and Seminole Highway. The mosaics from this workshop will be placed at location 3 for the project (view aesthetic locations and features).

  • Saturdays (Jan. 17, 24 and 31) from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Every Tuesday from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. and Wednesday from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
    • These meetings will occur until the mosaic tile images are completed in spring 2015.

Location: 4269 W Beltline Highway, Suite B, Madison, WI (Corner of Danbury St. and Frontage Road)
Arrival and departure times are flexible within the time frames listed above. Parking on site is limited to three spaces only – please park on Danbury St. if the three spots are already taken.
Remember: In these workshops, you will be taught the techniques necessary for helping create this wonderful community mosaic project!
This project is another great way for community members to work together. Please invite your friends and neighbors to help create these beautiful murals inspired by the Dunn's Marsh Community. Hope to see you there!
