Wisconsin 511 Construction Projects Website Home

Home

The Wisconsin 511 Construction Projects home page provides an overview of the website, a clickable map of construction projects that have a Wisconsin 511 Construction Project website, and a clickable list of those same projects.  If numerous projects exist in a relatively small area of the state, a detailed inset map will become available when you hover over and click on that area.

Header

The header provides links to Wisconsin DOT and traveler information resources.  Some of the links in the header are context sensitive.

The 'Contact Us' link will provide you with contact information appropriate to the page you are visiting.  For instance, if you are on the home page, you will be directed to general contact information.  However, if you are on any of the construction project pages, you will be directed to the contact information for that construction project.

The 'Site Index' link works similarly.  If you are on the home page, you will see a site index that indexes the home site and all of the Wisconsin 511 Construction Project websites.  If you have navigated to a construction project-specific webpage, the site index will provide links to the home website sections and to the pages within the current construction project website.

Wisconsin 511 Construction Project Websites

Please note that not all pages listed below will be available for all projects.  Page availability may depend on whether certain data, like travel times, are available for a project area or project phase.  A construction project may also add informational pages that are not included in this list.  For questions or help with any of the construction project pages, please refer to the contact information listed on the Resources page in the 'Contact Us' section.

Overview

The Overview page provides an introduction and overview of the construction project, an overview map of the construction project, and a list of 'quick links' to direct you to important news or commonly accessed construction project resources.

Map

The Map page provides an interactive and real-time map of traffic incidents, lane closures, message signs, and traffic cameras within the construction project area.  If available, the map will also show traffic speeds and travel times.

The map may also provide additional information specific to the construction project, like locations of community sensitive design or the extents of different phases of the project.

Each of these map layers can be turned on and off in the map legend.  To view detailed information about a feature on the map, hover over the feature to see more information.  You may also click on features to keep the information box open.

To pan and zoom, use the navigational tools on the left of the map, your mouse scroll wheel, or right and left mouse button double-clicks.

Travel Times

The Travel Times table provides a list of travel times and other relevant data for road segments within the project area.   You can sort the table by clicking on the column headers once (for ascending order) or twice (for descending order).  The page information below the table allows you to determine how many results you'd like to see per page and to navigate to the next, previous, first, and last pages of results.

Closures

The Closures table provides a list of current, future, and local lane closures, traffic incidents, and other relevant data to support travel within the project area.   You can sort the table by clicking on the column headers once (for ascending order) or twice (for descending order).  The page information below the table allows you to determine how many results you'd like to see per page and to navigate to the next, previous, first, and last pages of results.
